The Mutant Superheroine Sage yawned widely as she sat up and looked around.  Apparently she’d fallen asleep in her chair while she’d been studying yet again.  Sage possessed a less than truly impressive mutant power given that hers was the ability to comprehend and remember information at rates which would made most modern supercomputer’s “blush” hard enough to overheat their processors and melt into piles of sludge.

Not exactly impressive compared to say” packing a bazooka behind either eyelid, being able to fly, shrug of bullets and punch through steel doors, or control the weather, but every day Sage strove to prove just how true the old saw about “knowledge is power” could be.

She mainly did it by reading, a lot, that way there was no bit of knowledge in the world which would escaped her reach, after all it was impossible to be taken by surprise when you already knew everything!  However when she looked around the sudden realization that struck her, there was something she didn’t know about this situation, where the door out was.

“What the...” She got up out of her chair and walked over to the wall that was located directly behind her.  She slowly ran her hand along the brick wall, and shook her head of black hair, before pushing aside a single strand of it which had fallen in front of her blue eyes.

She knew the X-Mansion’s library like the back of her hand due to how long she’d spent in it reading one book after another.

“This is just weird.”  Granted a lot of really weird things had been going on in the X-Mansion recently, for starters it seemed like both Emma and Storm had at the exact same time given up the ghost and gone whole hog when it came to being remarkably obese rather than just mildly overweight.

Still, fluctuations in the weight of two of her fellow superheroines was no match for a door suddenly vanishing where one had been for every single day that she’d spent as a member of the team!  Sighing in irritation Sage turned away from the door that had become a wall and walked back to her desk, and was shocked once again by what she found there, nothing.

Normally when she fell asleep at her desk there was a book spread wide open across it that she had drifted off to dreamland while taking her time to actually read at something resembling a normal human speed.

But this time there was nothing, it was as if she’d just sat down in her chair and fallen asleep in it.  Sage shook her head back and forth trying to figure out what exactly had gone on last night, but all she came up with was a blur.  Rather than questioning her laps of memory however she decided she’d just have to find another door out of the library after all there were more than one of them!

Except that not long after she embarked upon that particular quest the female mutant began to notice that the library itself had changed as well.  The stacks were no longer arranged in neat orderly lines, but instead set up in maze like twists and turns that always seemed to lead her back to exactly where she stared no mater which route she took.  Eventually after about an hour of searching for a way out Sage was tired and slumped into her chair rather dejectedly.

“None of this makes any sense!”  She took a  moment to pinch herself to see if this was a dream, and her eyes went wide as she discovered it didn’t hurt.

“What the?”  She pinched herself a few more times just to be sure, but they neither hurt nor awakened her from what seemed to be one very bizarre dream.

“I guess that the only way I’m going to be able to wake up is just wait around until I wake up...”  Since apparently she wouldn’t be able to short circut this particular dream, she’d just have to find a way to pass the time inside of it.

Not that this particular realization did all that much to depress her, since after all while she might be trapped in some kind of twisty turvey library but it couldn’t very well be a library without books, and as along as there were books, she’d be able to keep herself entertained.

She walked up to the nearest shelf, and pulled a book of the shelf in random.  Surprisingly there was nothing on the cover, spine or back to inform her of its contents.  So she just opened it up and read the front page.  Judging from its table of contents it was a cookbook, and not a particularly healthy one at that based on but dish titles like “Death By Chocolate”, “Diabetes on a Stick”, and “The Artery Clogger”.

Putting the book down on the floor she picked up yet another one hoping that it would prove to be more interesting reading material.  Sage ending up pulling about a dozen more books off of that particular shelf and for some reason was surprised to find out that each and every single one of them was a cook book.  Eventually she got tired of glancing at one disgusting dish  name after another, and finally walked off to another section of the library.

As she examined it more closely Sage discovered that the shelves were unmarked, and with good reasonm as it turned out that no matter what part of the bizarre library she went to, the only texts she could find were cookbooks.

Deciding that she was getting tired of walking around without finding anything truly worth reading about, she gave up, grabbed one more book at random and took it back to her desk.  There she sat down, opened it up and read through the entire book one page after another, memorizing the names, ingredients, and the cooking instructions, of each and every single recipe.

In the process she slowly felt herself drifting deeper and deeper into a sleep like trance, only to be kicked out of it with almost insulting immediacy when she turned a page and found only a sheet of blank white paper and a back cover awaiting her.

Knowing that she had come within a hair’s length of being able to read her way out of the dream, she picked up another book and started reading it as well.  The process repeated itself, by about the halfway point her eyes were getting heavy, by the second to last page she was reading her head down on the desk, then she turned a page and realizing she had reached the end shook off the cloak of sleep which had come oh so close to fully enveloping her.

So Sage went and got a third book and started reading that one, and when she finished it Sage found herself almost automatically going for another.  With slow mechanical precision she began to read her way through one book after another until she had cleared away several shelves leaving her desk practically buried in the tomes she had refrained from replacing after she was done with them.

She sat there gripping her head, as for the first time in her life she since her power’s manifested she felt mentally ‘full’ for lack of a better term.  There was too much going on in her head for her to think clearly.  Already she couldn’t remember the names, symbols atomic masses, and (obviously) atomic number for any elements past lead!  It was as if somehow all those fattening recipes had just expanded once they were inside her mind and pushed aside the considerably more important details that had been they made themselves at home.

She sat there silently pondering how exactly a woman with a photographic memory went about actually forgetting something on purpose when suddenly spinning around in her chair she noticed that a small kitchenette had sprung into being behind her.

It didn’t make any sense, but then precious little about her current situation did.  All the same suddenly Sage was 100% certain that if she was ever going to forget those stupid recipes which filled her mind and seemed to shout themselves into her ears again and again, she’d just have to make use of them.

Much to her surprise it turned out the cupboards above the stove that had oh so magically appeared were filled to the brim with ingredients and instantly Sage got to work cooking.  Trying to be as efficient as possible she worked on as many of the recipes simultaneously as possible.

Before she knew it the studious mutant had a large feast cooked to complete and utter perfection before her, which she slowly began to transfer to a nearby refrigerator.  But as she did some her nostrils were assailed by all manner of wonderful scents and her stomach grumbled.  Sage looked down at the pie that was currently held in her hands and blushed slightly.

“Well, I suppose it couldn’t hurt.  I mean it’d be a shame not to prove to myself what an obviously outstanding cook I’d turn out to be if I cared to make the effort, after all it is just a matter of reading, memorizing, and following directions right?  Besides it’s no like dream calories are going to have any sort of effect upon my figure once I wake up...”  So she carried the pie back to her desk and not bothering to look for utensils or napkins just dug in.  By the time she was finished Sage was wiping away bits of crust from her mouth with her sleave a faraway expression in her eyes.

“Oh yeah I’m a great....”  Before she could complete her statement a belch suddenly flew through her lips.  Looking around shamefully the superheroine decided not to risk it and apologized to an empty room.

“Oops, excuse me.  As I was saying, I’m great cook. Though of course it couldn’t hurt to try one more thing just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke...”

-----

Sage ended up trying a truly surprising number of ‘one more things’ and after each one took a moment to praise her culinary skills before appraising her slowly fattening figure.

“Jeez, well this is clearly proof this is all a dream, I mean there’s no way I could get this fat this fast and from eating that little in reality.”  True enough not just Sage’s belly had grown larger, all over her blue outfit seemed to be straining to contain her new figure.  But rather than focus on how fat she had gotten, instead, she was going to keep her eyes focused  on the prize.

At the moment the prize was the fact that the door out of the library had finally come into being once again.  Now she was sure it was just a matter of walking over to the door, opening it up, and going through it and this entire weird series of events would be nothing but one weird dream that was unusually vivid and while amazing surreal couldn’t be quite properly be called a nightmare since nothing had happened.

Of course while it sounded simple, it proved to be rather fiendishly complicated.  To start with, walking to the door would require her to get up, and place her feet on the floor, which you couldn’t do when your ass was so large that it left you wedged firmly in place.

“Oh come on!”  She struggled grunted and growled, but her chair refused to bend to her words.  In the end she decided to try and lean firmly against the right side of her chair, and put down her weight upon that particular arm of the chair deciding to put her new figure to good use.

Sure enough she heard the sound of splinting wood, and the chair was left with a broken arm.  Sage rose to her feet and breathed a profound sigh of relief at having managed to work her way free.  Her mood was rather dampened however by the sound of her own pants proceeding to split.

Sage’s face went red as she discovered had her butt not only grown too large for her pants, but in this dream just like in real life she wasn’t wearing undergarments.  Not having panties on didn’t seem like such a big deal when she weighed only two dozen or so pounds over one hundred.  Now that she had to be about two hundred pounds at the very least, well she’d have to invest in a larger uniform, and probably start wearing under garments just to be safe.

Sage slowly felt out the rip in question and then for a moment wondered why she even cared.  Once she woke up she’d be thin again after all!  Still unable to remove her hands from the rip in her pants due to the embarrassment that would result from some other manifestation of her wild imagination would see her bare backside.

As she approached the door however before she could even take either of her hands from shielding her now atrociously large ass, the door suddenly opened up on its own.  Emma Frost waddled out through it, looking every bit as fat as in real life.

“So Sage, how do you like the new you?”  Sage glowered right back at the woman who was rapidly becoming known as the Great White Queen around the X-mansion.

“What are you talking about Emma?  Stop spying on my dreams and let me wake up?”  Emma began to laugh long and hard her hugely shaking back and forth.

“Oh this is no dream, its every bit as real as that portly backside you’ll be lugging around for the rest of your days.”  In the blink of an eye Emma’s body suddenly transformed into diamonds and she proceeded to slam her belly into Sage, knocking her to the floor.

“You see Sage, you’ve always been the smart time, and I’m sure you’ve have noticed is that certain women around the mansion have been getting a lot fatter around here.  Well guess what my sister who happens to be even eviler than I am decided to punish me for being a ‘good little girl’ by turning me into a tubby titan who weighs over 350 pounds.  Well guess what the way you and the others were treating me only made me feel worse, so I decided to take things even.  You see we all got along fairly well when we were thin, so I figure we’ll all get along fairly well once we’re all fat!”  Sage at once was able to connect the dots, not that there were a great many of them.

“You’re responsible for Storm getting fat!”  Emma nodded slowly a great smile on her jowly face.

“Congratulations you got it in one.  You see I put Storm in a situation we’re she’d fatten herself up quite nicely by playing to her fear of enclosed spaces, though with you I had to take a slightly more outside the box approach.  But it worked just as well.”  Sage looked down at herself and up at Emma.

“Get real, I might be fatter than I used to be, but I’m no where near as large as you are, hell I bet Storm is twice as heavy as I am!”  Emma proceeded to pick up and toss Sage across the room hard enough to the black haired woman incredibly shaken.  By the time she got back on her feet Emma had unplugged the refrigerator and dragged it over.

“Maybe right now, but let’s see what you look like by the time you’re finished putting all the food you made to good use.”

----

Emma sat back at the dinning table enjoying the sight of her two newest creations.  After having all that food cooked with chemically tampered ingredients designed to promote rapid digestion and maximum weight gain.

Sage no longer looked like the classic ‘hot libran’ but now  a mousy girl who spent far too much time reading and not enough exercising.  She bulged of her new extra extra extra large blue outfit much that Storm did in her white one, the two of them giant blubbery caricatures of who they used to be.

As far as Emma was concerned she wouldn’t have it any other way, now she had managed to successfully fatten and brainwash two of her teammates, clearly it was now nothing but a matter of time until the rest of the team learned the important lesson of how a waist was a terrible thing to mind!
